A integrated circuit (also called microchip) is a minaturized circuit,which was invented by Jack Kilby in 1985.There had been also others who tried to create a integrated circuit but finally he was the first person who succesfull demonstrated the first working integradet circuit .

The first integrated circuit

Today integradet circuits are used in almost every equipment in use today and revolutionized the electronic world.They take over many functions from data stores to highly sensitive sensors.It consists of a thin substrate of semiconductor material and allows extensive functionality on small space.

The integration of large numbers of tiny transistors into a small chip was an enormous improvement over the manual assembly of circuits using electronic components.The main advantages of the microchip are the low size and especially the low cost of production.

In these days the "microprocessors" are the most anvanced integrated circuits.They are able to controll everything from nearly each technological thing.Without this Invention our life with technology would be much more complicated.
